Dallas-Fort Worth is the deepest wedding market in Texas, and it is really two markets wearing one name.

Fort Worth sells the version of Texas people picture: the Stockyards, ranch halls, hilltop villas, western elegance. Dallas sells glass towers, restored 1930s civic architecture, and Tuscan estates in the northern suburbs. The two are forty minutes apart and they barely compete with each other, because couples who want one almost never want the other.

We cataloged 313 wedding venues across the metroplex, and 98 of them publish a starting price, the largest priced sample of any market in the state. Below are the 18 we would point a couple to first.

Dallas-Fort Worth venues publish a median starting package of $3,948, with half the market between $2,500 and $5,000 (n=98).

That is only about 13 percent above the Texas state median of $3,500, which is less of a big-city premium than most couples expect. The metroplex is expensive in absolute terms because everything here scales up, not because the venues charge disproportionately.

The category where DFW genuinely is expensive is photography. Dallas-Fort Worth photographers publish a median of $3,400 (n=33), the highest in Texas and 70 percent above Houston's $2,000 (n=32). The Fort Worth side: western, historic, and hilltop

1. River Ranch Stockyards

The definitive Fort Worth wedding address, in the Stockyards themselves. Multiple indoor rooms plus outdoor lawn and patio, with a capacity range of 20 to 2,500 that is the widest on this list by a distance. Western ranch styling, historic setting, and the ability to scale from a small ceremony to an event most venues could not physically hold.

Pricing is by inquiry. If you want the Fort Worth of the popular imagination, this is the room.

2. Stoney Ridge Villa

A family-owned Mediterranean villa in Azle, built in an 18th-century Spanish style on a hilltop overlooking downtown Fort Worth. Indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception space for up to 200, and a 4.9 star rating across nearly 500 reviews, among the highest on this list.

The pricing policy is unusually clear and worth quoting: the venue states it does not add taxes, vendor fees, or cleaning fees. Bartending runs $55 per hour and security $60 per hour. A 25 percent deposit holds the date, and they only rent 13-hour-plus event days rather than hourly blocks. That is a longer day than most venues give you.

3. Bowie House, Auberge Collection

A luxury urban hotel in Fort Worth's Cultural District with a grand ballroom, smaller reception rooms, and an outdoor yard for ceremonies and cocktail hours. Capacity 20 to 350.

This is the newest luxury inventory in Fort Worth and the answer for a couple who wants the city rather than the ranch, with guest rooms attached.

4. Fort Worth Botanic Garden

A 120-acre public garden with 16 indoor spaces and 14 outdoor areas, which makes it less a venue than a catalog of venues. On-site support staff, kitchen access in many areas, tables and chairs included in many, and a dedicated bridal suite.

Tours are by appointment only, and given the number of distinct spaces, taking one is genuinely necessary here in a way it is not everywhere.

5. Lost Oak Winery

A boutique winery in Burleson, south of Fort Worth, with an indoor-outdoor event center, vineyard views, and dedicated bridal and groom suites. Capacity to 200. Pricing by inquiry.

The best vineyard option on the Fort Worth side, and close enough to the city that guests are not making a trip of it.

Dallas: skyline, civic architecture, and transparent pricing

6. Tower Club Dallas

A private club on the 48th floor of a downtown tower, with skyline views on every side, in-house catering, and event coordination. Capacity 10 to 250, indoor only.

The important detail: no membership is required to book. The starting site fee typically includes tables, chairs, linens, flatware, glassware, china, and setup and cleanup, which removes a large chunk of the rental line other venues leave you to fill.

7. Edison's

A 12,000-square-foot venue just south of downtown Dallas, and the most transparently priced venue in the metroplex. It publishes room by room and day by day:

• The Gatsby Ballroom: $4,500 Sunday to Thursday, $6,000 Friday and Saturday
• The Bentley Ballroom: $1,500 Sunday to Thursday, $2,000 Friday and Saturday
• Entire facility: $6,000 Sunday to Thursday, $8,000 Friday and Saturday

8. Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek

A historic luxury hotel in Uptown Dallas, styled as a residential estate rather than a hotel, with elegant indoor and outdoor spaces, dedicated event specialists, and on-site dining. Capacity from 20.

The top of the Dallas market. No wedding pricing is published, which is characteristic of that tier.

9. The Hall of State

The 1936 landmark in Fair Park, available for ceremonies, receptions, and outdoor lawn events. Grand, formal, and architecturally significant in a way very few Texas venues are.

One scheduling note specific to this address: the State Fair of Texas takes over Fair Park for 24 days from late September into mid-October, which collides directly with the best wedding weather of the year. Check your date against it early.

10. Dallas Palms

A full-service venue in Carrollton with three indoor ballrooms and multiple outdoor garden spaces, positioned as all-inclusive with in-house catering, decor, planning, and staff. Capacity to 500.

Catering menus are published at $39.99, $59.99, and $69.99 per person for the Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tiers. It is one of the few DFW venues operating close to a true all-inclusive model, and it serves the metroplex's large multicultural wedding market well.

The estates and the destination properties

11. Knotting Hill Place

A luxury estate in Little Elm with a 17,000 square foot indoor ballroom and a 10,000 square foot outdoor lawn, for up to 300 guests, about 30 minutes from both downtown Dallas and DFW Airport.

That airport proximity matters more than it sounds for a wedding with significant out-of-town travel.

12. D'Vine Grace Vineyard

A Tuscan-inspired 20-acre estate in McKinney with a chapel, grand ballroom, outdoor piazza, and lawn. Listed capacity runs up to 1,000, which puts it among the largest single-property capacities in North Texas.

13. The Castle At Rockwall

A castle-style venue on ten landscaped acres east of Dallas, with indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces, a large event hall, and on-site overnight guest rooms. Capacity to 350.

Published add-on detail rather than a package price: a $500 deposit at signing, the balance due two months out, additional hours at $500 each, a $2,500 food and beverage minimum with the exclusive caterer, a photo booth at $250, and eight uplights at $150. Worth pricing the minimum into your comparison, because it is effectively part of the venue cost.

14. The Hamptons Event Venue

A modern upscale ballroom in Red Oak, south of Dallas, and the widest published price ladder in Texas:

Off-peak discounts apply in some months, and the quoted figures exclude damage deposit and sales tax. Crystal chandeliers, Italian marble, capacity 150 to 400. The gap between Bronze and Emerald is instructive: at this venue the package tier, not the venue choice, is the budget decision.

15. The Springs

A family-owned multi-location operator with properties including Hidden Springs Ranch and Oakview Lodge around Denton and Aubrey. Full-day rentals, indoor and outdoor ceremony options, and an optional all-in-one package.

Company-wide pricing runs $2,500 to $14,500, with couples averaging $5,000 to $8,000. The Denton properties specifically run $2,800 to $8,500 depending on venue, month, and day. That published average is a genuinely useful anchor for the whole metroplex.

Smaller, and the value end

16. Inn on Lake Granbury

A lakefront boutique inn southwest of Fort Worth, for intimate weddings with outdoor lakefront ceremonies, an indoor reception room, in-house catering, and rooms for the party. Capacity 2 to 75, and a 4.9 star rating.

The published package ladder is the clearest small-wedding pricing in the metroplex:

17. The Sanford House Inn & Spa

A luxury boutique hotel and spa in historic downtown Arlington, with a stone courtyard for ceremonies and receptions up to 200, on-site catering, full bar, private dining rooms, and lodging. Inn rooms run $395 to $650; wedding and catering pricing is on request.

18. Chandor Gardens

A 3.5-acre historic garden in Weatherford's historic district, west of Fort Worth. Outdoor, capacity to about 75, 4.8 stars.

The Garden Party outdoor rental is $1,400 for private events, with a $250 refundable deposit, and non-profits pay $1,000. For a small outdoor ceremony in a genuinely distinctive setting, it is one of the best values in North Texas.

Two more worth knowing about

Live! by Loews in Arlington publishes tiered ceremony pricing that scales with guest count: $1,500 up to 100 guests, $2,500 for 101 to 300, $3,500 for 301 to 400, and $4,500 for 401 and up. The reception package includes a four-hour beer and wine bar and champagne toast, with a $750 per hour lawn fee. It sits between Globe Life Field and AT&T Stadium, which is either a feature or a scheduling hazard depending on the date. Check the Cowboys and Rangers calendars.

The Porch Venue in Waxahachie is the outlier on this list: a 3,000 square foot entertainment deck built around clay shooting, axe throwing, cornhole and darts, with per-person experience packages at $125, $150 and $200 plus a $75 deck fee for non-shooters. It is a rehearsal dinner idea more than a reception one, and a very good one.

What to ask on a DFW tour

The metroplex has more inventory than any other Texas market, which means the differences between venues are in the terms rather than the rooms.

Ask what the day actually is. Stoney Ridge rents 13-hour days. Others rent blocks with $500 hourly overages. Two venues quoting $5,000 can be quite different purchases.

Ask about the food and beverage minimum separately from the rental. The Castle at Rockwall's $2,500 minimum is disclosed, which is good practice; many venues do not volunteer it.

Ask about the day of the week in writing. Edison's publishes a third off for Sunday through Thursday. Most DFW venues have a similar structure and simply do not put it on the website.
