Sarasota is the most culturally serious small city in Florida, and it shows up in the venues. A circus fortune built a Venetian Gothic mansion and an art museum on Sarasota Bay, and both host weddings. The barrier islands, Siesta Key, Longboat Key, and Anna Maria, hold some of the best beach in the country. And twenty minutes inland, past Lakewood Ranch, the county turns into oak hammock and cattle pasture around Myakka City, where the barn venues sit on hundreds of acres.

The median published venue package here is $5,000, among the highest in Florida, and the reason is the same one that drives the Treasure Coast: this region sells all-inclusive packages rather than bare rentals. The top of the published market is $32,500 and it buys an entire wedding.

Quick context on Sarasota and Bradenton pricing

Published starting packages run from $3,100 to $32,500, with the median at $5,000 (n=9). That is a thin sample and we are flagging it rather than dressing it up. What the sample does show clearly is the shape of the market: the floor is high because there is very little bare-room inventory, and the ceiling is high because the all-inclusive estates here quote a whole wedding.

There is a genuine micro-wedding tier underneath all of it, with several venues publishing between $500 and $1,750 for small ceremonies. Those are worth knowing about and we cover them below.

The Sarasota landmarks

1. The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art

A 66-acre bayfront estate with several distinct venues inside it: the Museum of Art courtyard, the Ca' d'Zan mansion, the Bayfront Gardens, and the Historic Asolo Theater. There is nothing else like it in Florida. Ca' d'Zan is a genuine Venetian Gothic palace on Sarasota Bay, and a ceremony in the museum courtyard is about as far from a hotel ballroom as Florida gets. Expect museum rules on vendors, timing, and amplified sound, and expect to book well ahead.

2. College Hall at New College

A 1920s bayfront mansion on the New College campus, available for weekend rentals, with indoor spaces and expansive grounds facing Sarasota Bay, holding up to 130. It is the Ringling era's other great house, considerably easier to book, and the bayfront lawn is superb at sunset.

3. ALEUR Event Collective

A design-forward venue in a historic building on Central Avenue in downtown Sarasota, with a soft industrial aesthetic, offering all-inclusive or venue-only rental for up to 250. Published at $4,200 to $8,500. The venue-only option is unusual in this market and it is the right pick if you have your own vendors and want a room with real character.

4. Manatee Palms

A historic boutique hotel in downtown Bradenton, built in 1914, with tropical grounds, an on-site restaurant, and rooms. Bradenton is quieter and cheaper than Sarasota, and having your guests sleep where they celebrate solves the barrier-island traffic problem before it starts.

The all-inclusive estates

5. Bakers Ranch

An all-inclusive venue in Parrish handling ceremony, reception, catering, florals, DJ, and full coordination, for 50 to 200 guests, with styling that runs from rustic-bohemian to classic ballroom. Published at $18,500. That is one contract for essentially the entire wedding, and for couples who do not want to manage nine vendors it is a genuinely different product from a venue rental.

6. Elia Olive Farm

A full-service venue on historic Terra Ceia Island, with indoor and outdoor spaces for 100 to 350 guests and inclusive catering, DJ, and coordination. Published at $22,500 to $32,500. This is the top of the market and the largest capacity in the region. An olive farm on a Gulf island is not something Florida offers twice.

7. Evergrove Estate

A luxury barn venue on 6 acres in Bradenton near Lakewood Ranch, with restored indoor and outdoor spaces and on-site accommodations. The most polished of the barn properties and the closest to the population center, which keeps guest logistics simple.

8. The Cottage on Lemon Bay

A 2.4-acre waterfront estate in Englewood with all-inclusive packages, a private ceremony platform over Lemon Bay, and lodging for the wedding party on site. Published at $5,000 to $9,000. Englewood is the far south of the county and genuinely quiet. This is the best small waterfront wedding on this page.

The Myakka ranch country

9. Brown's Grove

A 5,000 square foot rustic barn and outdoor venue in a historic Sarasota citrus grove, holding up to 200, with string lights, oaks, and waterside ceremony settings. Published at $4,500 to $8,000. A working citrus grove is a specifically Florida setting and this one is twenty minutes from downtown.

10. Woods of Mallaranny

A 47-acre working plant nursery and cattle ranch in Myakka City with century-old oaks, gardens, and a hand-crafted 5,200 square foot barn. The barn was built for this rather than converted, and the scale of the oaks out here is the reason to make the drive.

11. Wandering Oaks

An all-inclusive barn venue in Myakka City for 50 to 120 guests, with package options running from fully inclusive down to do-it-yourself. The flexible package ladder is the appeal: you can take as much or as little help as you want, which most all-inclusive venues will not do.

12. The Palmetto Estate

A private Spanish Revival venue in Palmetto with a secluded courtyard under live oaks. Published at $3,500 to $5,000, which is the lowest full-venue number in the region and buys genuine old-Florida architecture.

Beaches and small weddings

13. Shore Thing Weddings

A beach wedding specialist on Anna Maria Island running ceremonies on Coquina Beach for up to 40 guests, with decor and coordination. Published at $750 to $1,750. For a beach ceremony followed by dinner somewhere else, this is far cheaper and far less work than assembling it yourself. Anna Maria is the least developed of the barrier islands and the best of them for photographs.

A faith-centered 5-acre garden venue in Venice with an indoor sanctuary and multiple outdoor areas beneath old oaks, for 100 to 180 guests. Venice is the southern end of the county and a genuinely pleasant small town.

Also worth a tour

The Venue @ LEC in Sarasota seats 300 to 480 with a built-in LED wall and ample parking, and it is the practical answer for a large wedding in this region. Suncoast Event Venue in North Port is 10,000 square feet with multiple rooms. Renaissance Event Center in Palmetto is another 10,000 square foot space, opened in 2024, with a full kitchen. Worthington For Events in Ellenton takes up to 175. Harbourside Ballroom at the Longboat Key Club covers the resort end. And for very small weddings, The Garden Room Cafe at Shoogie Boogies in downtown Sarasota does turnkey packages for 25 to 40 with food, beverage, and florals included, The Divine Chapel of Love publishes $650 to $975, and Oasis Events Collective starts at $500 for four hours including tables, chairs, linens, and cleaning.

Two things specific to this region

Season is severe here, more than in most of Florida. Sarasota and Bradenton fill with seasonal residents from January through April and empty in the summer. That means peak venue pricing, peak hotel rates, and genuinely difficult traffic on the barrier islands in exactly the months the weather is best. Barrier island logistics are the hidden cost. Siesta Key, Longboat Key, and Anna Maria are reached by a small number of bridges, and on a Saturday in season the drive from downtown Sarasota to Siesta can take three times what the map says. If your ceremony is on an island and your reception is not, or your guests are staying on the mainland, build the transport plan before you book, not after.

What to ask on the tour

Ask what the all-inclusive package excludes, because in this market the packages are genuinely comprehensive and the gaps are therefore easy to miss: bar service, overtime, and vendor meals are the usual ones. Ask whether the venue permits outside catering, since that is the biggest single lever on cost here and several of these properties do not. For the beach ceremonies, ask who pulls the permit and what the backup is if the weather turns. And for the inland barns, ask about climate control and mosquitoes between June and October.
