14 Best Wedding Venues on the Louisiana Northshore (2026 Guide)
The Northshore is what New Orleans couples find when they discover the city has priced them out.
Across Lake Pontchartrain, roughly 40 minutes from the French Quarter over the Causeway, Covington and Mandeville and Slidell and Hammond hold a venue market that costs about a third less than the one they just left. Published packages here run a median of $4,925 against New Orleans's $7,450, and the properties are bigger, greener, and easier to park at.
The trade is the drive and the loss of the city itself. What you get instead is oak groves, bayou frontage, a genuine castle, and all-inclusive estates that will do the whole wedding for one number.
We cataloged 37 wedding venues across the Northshore. Below are the 14 we would point a couple to first.

Quick context on Northshore venue pricing
Statewide, published Louisiana wedding venue packages have a median starting price of $4,825, with half the market between $2,850 and $7,488. The Northshore runs a median of $4,925, with quartiles at $4,075 and $6,443, and a top published package of $33,000.
That sample is six venues, below the ten we normally want before quoting a median, so treat it as directional. The direction is clear enough: the Northshore is a mid-market that reaches high at the top, and it sits about 34% below the New Orleans metro on the same measure.
The all-inclusive estates
This is the Northshore's strength. If you want one contract and one number, this region has more of it than anywhere in Louisiana outside metro New Orleans.
1. The Louisiana Castle
A genuine castle in Franklinton, and the most thoroughly published all-inclusive pricing on the Northshore:
- 2026 weekday complete packages: $4,900 for 25 guests up to $22,775 for 350
- 2027 weekday packages: $4,950 for 20 guests up to $23,100 for 350
- 2026 Saturday evening full-scale weddings: from $9,600 for 75 guests to $24,225 for 300
- Micro weddings around $6,800 to $6,950 for 50 guests
- Overnight Juliet Suite stays at $375 to $400
Capacity 20 to 350, with outdoor ceremonies, ballroom receptions, and in-house catering, DJ, coordination, and decor.
The weekday-versus-Saturday gap is the useful disclosure here. A 75-guest Saturday evening starts at $9,600. A comparable weekday package runs closer to $7,000. That is real money for moving your date to a Friday.
2. The Oaks Wedding & Events Center
An all-inclusive venue in Ponchatoula set in an oak grove, with two on-site spaces covering intimate and larger weddings, capacity 30 to 325. Pricing is by request, described as all-inclusive with no hidden charges.
3. The Greystone
A Mandeville venue with a grand ballroom, outdoor ceremony spaces, and landscaped grounds, capacity 100 to 350. Pricing is all-inclusive at one price per head with no added extras unless discussed with the catering manager.
That per-head structure is the New Orleans model transplanted across the lake, and it is worth asking directly how it compares against city venues quoting the same way.
4. The Fleur De Lis Event Center
A full-service Mandeville venue with ballrooms, outdoor courtyard ceremonies, and in-house catering. It publishes per-guest pricing of $63 with alcohol and $53 without for its private restaurant format, through an online calculator and a downloadable pricing pamphlet, with add-ons for carving stations, DJ, and photo booth.
An online pricing calculator is close to unique in this market. If you want to model guest-count scenarios before you talk to anyone, start here.
5. The Antebellum House
A Victorian-inspired reception hall with a large main hall, dance floor, balcony, and dedicated bridal room, capacity to 300. All-inclusive packages, pricing not published.
The historic properties
6. Southern Hotel
A restored historic hotel in downtown Covington with an adjacent former convent as a second venue, offering indoor and outdoor spaces with in-house catering. Rooms on site, a walkable downtown around it, and the best hotel-plus-venue combination on the Northshore.
If your guest list is flying in, this solves lodging, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception on one block.
7. Historic Michabelle Inn
A family-run bed and breakfast and event space in Hammond with outdoor ceremony options and a ballroom holding up to 350. A $1,000 non-refundable deposit books the date, payment plans are available, and the balance is due seven days out.
The payment plan is worth flagging. Very few venues at this scale publish one.
8. Benedict's Catering
A Mandeville venue built around a nineteenth-century plantation cottage with gardens, gazebos, and a ballroom to 300, offering customizable packages with in-house catering, bar options, and a bridal coordinator.
Waterfront and countryside
9. Palmettos On The Bayou
A waterfront Acadian-style restaurant and event venue in Slidell on Bayou Bonfouca, with indoor and outdoor spaces to 250 and full-service catering. The bayou setting is the whole point and it photographs beautifully at golden hour.
10. Lynhaven
An 18-acre lakefront venue in Hammond with a renovated event center, a pool, a pond, and waterfront space, indoor and outdoor. Stated capacity runs to 2,000, which makes it the largest room on the Northshore by a wide margin.
11. The White Magnolia
A 110-acre countryside property in Kentwood with an open-air chapel, bridal and groom suites, on-site guest cottages, and in-house catering, capacity 50 to 350. Party packages start at $4,950, $5,350, and $5,750, with pricing tiers for 100 and 50 guests and per-person rates above that. A 20% taxable resort fee and 8.5% tax are added on top.
That resort fee is important. A $5,750 package is really about $6,900 before you add a guest, and it is exactly the kind of line item that ambushes a budget. Ask every Northshore venue whether a service or resort fee applies.
12. The Barn at TH Farms
A family-owned rustic barn venue in Independence with two restored barns, indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, and weekend access for couples. The full-weekend access is the differentiator: most barn venues in this market sell a single day.
13. The Berry Barn
A barn venue in Amite City with bridal and groom suites, greenery spaces, and lodging for overnight stays.
Large and cultural celebrations
14. The Harbor Center
A large modern venue in Slidell with a column-free Grand Hall and flexible meeting spaces, capacity 10 to 2,000. It specifically markets to large or multi-day cultural celebrations, including South Asian weddings, and pricing is a la carte and customized per event.
Column-free space at that scale is genuinely scarce in southeast Louisiana. If you are planning a multi-day wedding with several hundred guests, this and Lynhaven are the two realistic options on the Northshore.
How to shop Northshore venues
Ask about the resort or service fee first. The White Magnolia's 20% resort fee plus 8.5% tax adds nearly 29% to the headline number. Others in the market do the same without publishing it. Get the all-in figure, not the package price.
Weekday and Friday pricing is real here. The Louisiana Castle publishes the gap, and most of the all-inclusive estates have one. On the Northshore, moving off Saturday can save 20% or more.
Do the Causeway math honestly. Forty minutes is accurate at 2pm on a Tuesday. On a Friday evening with a wedding-party guest list crossing at rush hour, it is longer, and the bridge closes in high wind. If a meaningful share of your guests are coming from the city, build that into your timeline and tell them.
Compare against New Orleans on a per-head all-in basis. The Northshore's headline discount is about a third, but city venues bundle more. Once you price a Northshore venue plus catering plus bar, the gap sometimes narrows to very little. Sometimes it does not. Do the arithmetic rather than assuming.
Our venue checklist and the questions to ask on a venue tour cover the rest, and what a wedding venue costs puts these numbers in national context.
