There is Jackson itself, plus the affluent suburbs north and east in Madison, Ridgeland, and Flowood, where most of the state's purpose-built event venues sit. And then there is Vicksburg, 45 minutes west on the Mississippi River, which has a concentration of antebellum mansions and bed-and-breakfasts that Jackson does not, and prices them accordingly.

Together they hold 51 venues worth shortlisting, more than anywhere else in the state.

Statewide, published Mississippi wedding venue packages have a median starting price of $3,400, with half the market between $2,500 and $4,244. The Jackson metro runs a median of $3,750 (n=12), with quartiles at $2,375 and $5,000, and a top published package of $10,600.

That puts Jackson slightly above the state median and well below Oxford's $3,975, which is the result most people get backwards. Mississippi's capital and largest metro is not its most expensive wedding market.

$3,000 to $4,000 for a Friday or Saturday, covering 12 hours of event time including setup and cleanup, plus the stage, bar areas, outdoor courtyards, tables and chairs, light and sound, a professional technician, and security.

Twelve hours with a technician and security included is a genuinely different product from the four-hour blocks most of this market sells. If your reception is music-led, the built-in stage and sound system removes an entire vendor category from your budget.

2. RSVP Ice House

A full-service Jackson venue with a New Orleans-style courtyard, an on-site wedding chapel, and a large reception hall, capacity to 400. Ceremony and reception on one site with no flip, which in this market is worth more than it sounds.

3. The Ivy Venue

A private-estate-style venue in Flowood on more than seven acres, with ceremony and reception spaces. The estate format at suburban distance from the city, and one of the better-regarded properties in the metro.

4. Bridlewood of Madison

A rustic-elegant barn venue in Madison with on-site accommodations, outdoor ceremony areas, and full-service bar options, capacity to 300. Rental pricing is not published, though bar packages are, with add-ons and per-person fees.

The on-site lodging is the differentiator among Jackson-area barns.

5. BellaWood The Venue

A venue in Florence offering ceremony and reception spaces, a bridal suite, and a groom's room, with packages specifically structured for micro, weekday, and weekend weddings. That three-tier structure is a good sign: it means small and off-peak weddings are a product here rather than an exception.

6. River Hills Club

A private tennis and sports club in Jackson with a 26,000 square foot clubhouse and campus for receptions. The traditional club option, and a large one.

7. Mynelle Gardens Arboretum & Botanical Center

A seven-acre city-owned botanical garden and wildlife sanctuary in Jackson with outdoor garden settings for events. Event pricing is by inquiry, and city-owned garden venues are typically among the cheapest good options in any market.

8. Fairview Inn

A historic boutique hotel in Jackson with indoor and outdoor spaces, gardens, and on-site lodging, handling 10 to 400 guests. Pricing is by inquiry through the events manager.

The 10-to-400 range is the widest in the metro, and the on-site rooms make it the cleanest answer for a guest list flying in.

Vicksburg and the river

9. The B.B. Club

A restored 1916 building in downtown Vicksburg with a Grand Ballroom and a rooftop terrace over the Mississippi River, capacity 24 to 400. Pricing is published and worth reading carefully:

• 2026 one-day wedding rental $6,000, plus a $1,000 flip fee for ceremony to reception
• Event insurance required, averaging around $150
• Alcohol and bar service additional; specialty linens and extra chairs available for rent

That flip fee is the detail to note. A ceremony and reception in the same building costs $7,000 here, not $6,000, and this is the only venue in Mississippi we found that publishes the flip charge as a separate line. Ask every venue whether they have one.

The rooftop over the river is the single best view of any wedding venue in the state.

A restored antebellum bed and breakfast in historic Vicksburg with indoor and outdoor spaces for ceremonies and receptions. Pricing on request.

11. The Inn at Cedar Grove

An 1840 mansion in Vicksburg with a courtyard, grand ballroom, restaurant, and on-site accommodations, with river views. One of the most complete historic properties in Mississippi: you can put the ceremony, the reception, the dinner, and the guests all on one site.

12. Oak Hall Mansion & Boutique Hotel

A Mission Revival mansion and boutique B&B in Vicksburg offering whole-house rentals and small weddings, capacity 10 to 150. Fully published pricing:

• Whole house rental $1,250 per night plus tax, two-night minimum
• Anniversary and honeymoon packages $475
• Enhancements: rose petal champagne service $75, cupcake platter $30, charcuterie for two $50

A two-night whole-house buyout at $2,500 plus tax, for a wedding of up to 150 with the party staying on site, is among the best values in Mississippi. The Mission Revival architecture is also genuinely unusual for the region, which for some couples resolves the antebellum question that Vicksburg otherwise raises.

13. Vicksburg Convention Center

A downtown facility with flexible meeting rooms, exhibit space, and in-house catering, capacity 10 to 2,000. The answer for a very large wedding in a metro where most venues cap at 400.

Out of town

14. Cypress Point Resort

A Southern resort in Brandon with multiple event spaces, on-site catering, and lodging. Pricing is not published. Worth a call if you want a resort format rather than a single room, and it is close enough to Jackson to keep guest travel simple.

How to shop Jackson venues

Ask about the flip fee. The B.B. Club publishes theirs at $1,000. Most venues in this market that host both ceremony and reception charge something for the room turnover, and almost none say so upfront. It is the most common $500 to $1,500 surprise in the metro.

Compare Jackson against Vicksburg on total cost, not venue cost. Vicksburg's mansions look more expensive per night, but several of them include lodging for the wedding party, which in Jackson is a separate hotel bill. Oak Hall at $1,250 a night for the whole house is a different proposition from a $3,750 venue fee plus rooms.

Look at what is bundled. Duling Hall includes 12 hours, sound, a technician, and security in $3,000 to $4,000. That is three or four line items other venues in this market will quote separately. Build your comparison on the all-in figure.

Check the football calendar if your guests are travelling. Jackson itself is not a college town, but a large share of Mississippi wedding guests drive in from Oxford and Starkville, and a home game Saturday will complicate their travel and their hotel options.
